It’s 18 years since I went there but I still remember the awesome grandeur.
Steve and I flew from Las Vegas to Grand Canyon. The plane followed the Colorado River over the Hoover Dam and above the canyon for many miles. The Japanese lady across the aisle from me slept all the way.
The plane, see below, was about 16 seats including the pilot and co-pilot.
Seemed strange that everyone had to be weighed. Normal on smaller planes.

The ticket included a free T bone steak dinner in Las Vegas which we ate the night before.
There was a bus to drive to the rim of the Canyon stopping along the way for lunch.
Extremely good value for $150.

A park ranger gave a commentary on the way including some very odd people he had met. A woman wanted to know when ‘they’ let the bears out at night; Another asked how long it took to build.

Despite the time of year the weather was pleasant.
Apart from the slight risk of rain November is an excellent time to visit Arizona.
The view of the valley 1 mile below is stunning and never to be forgotten.

The Angel Lodge has hosted Presidents who entertained their foreign guests.
You can go to Grand Canyon by helicopter from Las Vegas or arrive by train but I think the plane is probably the best mainly because you get more time to take in the scenery. I could be tempted to go down to the river on a mule train if I ever go again.
