Chris and I recently had a pleasant visit to Knowsley Safari Park.

We can get there in under 40 minutes.  Britney Spear’s endorsement did not figure in our plans.

We booked a slot as one does at present and paid in advance.  Checked in with no delay and bought the guide to the park for £1.  Extremely good value.  We found out afterwards that there is a brilliant app that helps you identify the animals in the drive through safari.  The roads are tarmac with a few patches but at the recommended speed of 10 mph perfectly adequate.  You can go round multiple times if you like.

On the day we visited the monkey trail was closed.  Worth avoiding as they can damage your car.  You can see the monkeys through the fence or even better book the Baboon Bus.

The lions area was closed when we arrived but opened later on.

Refreshments were limited and expensive.  £6 for a burger.  You can take your own food and drinks.

I will add some more photos when Chris lets me have those from his phone

Retired but by no means finished. Always trying new things. Hoping that Online marketing makes enough to make me and my partner comfortable. We live in Wigan which is a town where several generations on my father's side came from.
